Subaru's reaction:
"Have you heard? The Americans want to challenge our WRX STI, again!!!"
"Really!?"
"Yeah, they even want to replace the Evo, as our eternal nemesis!!!"
"Bwahahahaha, those baka Gaijin never learn! It will be the 80's, all over again."

How did a 230hp FWD Neon challenge a 300hp AWD rally car?

Pretty sure it won't be the SRT AWD monster we are waiting for.
It will be like the Blacktop version they launched last year.

Verizon also said the LG Dare challenged the iPhone. Big corporations like to think the consumers will think anything they tell them. This is a Dare btw, falls under modern "feature" or "dumb" phone category.

They need to call it the Dodge Dart GTS. It will be performance oriented, yet still hearken back to the original name.

By having power windows in the front, and manual rollup windows in the back.

Better call it the Swinger.

If the use the AWD system from the 200 and do some fiddling with their NA 2.0l they could probably create quite a competitive car. The Dart's platform is already quite sporty and Chrysler has the entire Fiat group with them. If the Dart SRT gives comparable or even slightly less performance but costs significantly less I can see it selling well. At the very least it will probably look better.

Yeah, I highly doubt this thing is going to live up what internet speculation has built it up to be. If it does, I will be very impressed and may actually consider buying one in a few years. I already like the look of the Dart, I'm just not impressed with the performance.

Well, Subaru does this shit for 30 years, pretty hard to beat that.

They don't have to beat it. Just benchmark performance in a nicer package and for a cheaper price. Look at what Cadillac did; coming from nothing to offering sexy sports sedans that cost less than the comparable BMW and suddenly being taken seriously in the market.

The SRT has the potential to be truly awesome, if they don't F*** it up (Caliber SRT4, anyone?). The Dart could really use a performance version, it would help drive sales of the lower-tier up.
It worked amazingly well for the Lancer (how many kids bought Lancer SE just because they saw the EVO in every videogame and rally events they saw?)

Yeah, unfortunately I'm afraid that is a pretty big "if." We shall see though.

With Sergio and Fiat leading the show instead of those leeches at Cerberus, I dare to hope.

Hard to read, but I think it says

But then it tails off a bit towards the end.

I see $5-6k in savings over the comparable 5-series for the CTS and XTS before options. Ya the savings are only about a grand on the ATS vs. 3-series but the 3-series sells in volumes that allow them to lower the price to compete effectively without too much loss in profit. My point was more about how Cadillac started with land-barges no one wanted and suddenly became a player in their segment. The Dart and Fiat group are starting with a lot more than Cadillac had in their arsenal.

There's a similar one floating around where the gray countries are labeled "Countries that use the Metric System"

there is actually one other very small country that uses imperial units too...
now that I think of it... "name a country that uses the metric system that has put people on the moon" is a pretty good way to start a BS argument LOL
